Fashion Show during Oscar![]() As well known, year by year the Academy Awards ceremony is held. As you can see, the demise of the studio system has turned Oscars into world’s most watched fashion show. During this time, as you can see most stars wear gowns of their own choosing which are sometimes stunning, sometimes weird, and more often than not, revealing. It was very different in Oscar’s youth, though. As Gloria Stuart, the 92-year-old actress who remembers the 1932 Oscar celebration, “It was tuxedos for the men and long dresses for the women. Some of us wore opera gloves that reached to our elbow. The gowns today? It was nothing like that. It was not a fashion contest”. ![]() As you noticed, fashion is getting more and more important for the most stars to attend Oscar’s ceremony, and they consider it as a great chance to set trends and show off as well. In other words, the Academy Awards ceremony has become a fashion show comparable to the best of Paris---sometimes bizarre, sometimes sensual, but always eye catching. ![]() As you see, some stars wear the gowns with incredible conviction and a great sense of humor. You could hardly call it a dress, it’s a getup. Because they like using this way to shock people and get them talking as well as get their pictures in the paper and magazine the next day, but which it always is. ![]() On the other hand, for many designers and companies, they also take this great opportunity to expand and enhance the influence of their brand and fashion business, because they have realize that is was worth their time and money to be very involved for it. As the fashion designer Paula Hian said: “I don’t know how to put it in dollar terms, but it seems to have immeasurable value in the branding of your name.” In conclusion, no matter what they wear, it’s a safe bet. The stars will again make fashion statements at the March 23 Academy Awards. As Los Angeles designer Richard Tyler said: “I think you will see more body conscious clothing coming out. How far can it go? I don’t think there’s any limitation in fashion.” |
